Happy 1st Birthday Maddie!!!!

WOW!! I can't believe a year has already gone by. It seems like it has gone so fast and slow at the same time. I cannot imagine our lives without Maddie, it seems like she has been a part of our family forever. For the past week Josh and I have been reliving what we did a year ago at this time. It is so weird thinking about our lives without her. She is such a sweet heart. We are so blessed.

At one year Maddie is...
  • Taking a few steps here and there (2-3) before falling
  • Runs behind her shopping cart and princess mobile
  • Saying Baba for Baby, Oh Oh for Uh oh, Mama, and Dada
  • She loves to feed herself--if I am spoon feeding her she will help me by putting Cheerios on the spoon herself
  • Eating all big girl food
  • Sleeping 7:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. on weekdays. (She sleeps in longer on the weekends!! Hurray!)
  • Nursing in the morning and at night with 2 formula bottles during the day
  • Wearing 12 months clothes
  • Loving Peanut--she chases him around the house all day, poor dog!
  • A mommy...she has 2 baby dolls she loves to rock, kiss, and snuggle
  • A shoe addict--she picks up my shoes and tries to put them on her feet
  • Obsessed with talking on the phone. She loves to hold it up to her ear and act like she is talking on it.
  • Able to stack cups/buckets inside one another and rings on a little cone
  • Able to put coins in the slot of her piggy bank

She is just way too much fun right now. It is so much fun to see her pretending with her toys and doing new things. It is amazing watching it all unfold in front of our eyes.

Happy Birthday Maddie!!

Random January Pictures

My friend Sandra and her wonderful husband Neal live in Houston, Texas. They had a beautiful baby girl, Vivian, in October and traveled up to Indiana to visit for a few weeks in January. It was so much fun having them home. I keep trying to talk her into moving closer so we can have play dates. Vivian is such a cute, tiny baby. It is hard to think that Maddie was ever that small. Maddie was very fascinated watching Vivian and became very jealous whenever I held Viv!!

Maddie was mesmerized by Vivian!

Sandra and Maddie playing babies!

Vivian was SO TINY!! It is so strange holding a teeny, tiny baby after toting 20+lbs Maddie around. Vivian felt like a little feather. I think Vivian is going to take after her mommy and be tall and thin!

Ok, for the rest of the pictures you probably need an explanation. Poor little Maddie's face has been really chapped lately. The weather is so cold and dry and she is drooling like crazy because her molars are starting to come in, which makes conditions perfect for incredibly chapped skin. I have been putting Aquaphor on her face, which is helping a lot. I went to put it on her before bed one night and she bumped my hand it all went into her hair. She had a major "Something About Mary" moment. She looks so cute even with a huge spike of crazy hair coming out of the middle of her head.

Can you see her spike??

Peek-a-boo

Josh and Maddie spent a day together while I was at work. Josh was able to take these photos while they were playing peek-a-boo around the ottoman in our family room. Maddie is such a happy, fun baby. I think these pictures capture her personality perfectly.

Here I am daddy!

Where did you go?

Oh Daddy you are silly!
