The Beck Family: August 2010

Wow!! I can't believe our little girl is 18 months old!! She isn't a baby any more!! She is acting more and more like a big girl every day. It makes me smile, but at the same time I miss some of the things she was doing just a few months ago...She is at such a fun age right now. She is learning new things every day and learning to be more and more independent, which is a good thing and a challenging thing at the same time. This summer she has been staying with my mom two days a week and with our babysitter Sally two days a week.

At 18 months Maddie...

Uses a spoon
Gets upset if she makes a mess while eating--her high chair, fingers, bib have to be wiped off before she will continue eating
Is starting to drink straight from a normal cup!
Entertains herself!!!
Goes to time out occasionally
Knows some animal noises--cow, duck, birdie, dog, cat
Knows her body parts
Still hates having her diaper changed--but will try to wipe herself and put her diaper on
Is getting all 4 incisors! Yuck!
Loves to swing and play in her car
Is going through a hitting stage
Has to have her favorite blankie to go to sleep
Still Sucks on her middle and ring finger on her right hand
Loves giving Peanut treats and playing fetch with him
Acts like a doggie--crawling and saying ruff!
Doesn't like sand...
Is obsessed with hiding in closets!!!!!!!
Talking more than ever--we were trying to count all of her words today and were up to 80 words just naming things off the top of our heads!

Maddie's Favorites are...

Peaches, Raspberries, Cheese, Blueberry Nutrigrain bars
Animals! Especially her puppy Peanut!
Babies--she talks about the new baby who is at the babysitter all the time
Playing with Grandma's Triceratops "Happy" who she can ride and feed!
Shoes!!! She is completely obsessed with wearing shoes!! She doesn't care who's shoes they are, she just loves to wear them.
Music...she has been trying to sing at church and anytime she hears the hotdog song she starts dancing!
Going on boat rides!!!!!
