Dad's Surgery

My dad had surgery last Friday, October 9th in Columbus, Ohio. He had the robotic surgery to remove his prostate. Evidently the doctor in Columbus is one of the best around, so tht is where he wanted to go. Jonathan, Little Josh, Big Josh, Maddie, and I all went to Columbus to help take care of Dad and keep Mom company while she was waiting. His surgery started around 2:45 in the afternoon and finished around 5:00 p.m. He was in recovery for 2 hours beore we could see him. It was so hard to wait, but we were so thrilled when the doctor came in and told us that the surgery had went well and that the cancer appeared to be contained to the prostate.

Maddie was a champ at the hospital. She took naps in her stroller and had fun playing with her uncles. I was actually shocked at how well she did for not being able to crawl around on the floor. Little Josh and I had fun passing the time on www.thepeopleofwalmart.com website. I don't know if you have ever seen it, but it is hillarious. There are all these crazy pictures of unsuspecting people in Wal-Mart all over the country dressed in strange outfits or weird cars found in the parking lot. The best was when we saw a picture of a cow-print limo with a cow, pig, and chicken on the roof of the car and I yelled that car is in Auburn! Little Josh wouldn't believe me until Big Josh and my mom backed me up!

My dad has had a few rough days since he came home on Sunday, but is feeling better today according to my mom. Maddie came home from daycare sick yesterday, so we are trying to keep her as far away from my dad as possible. I took her to the pediatrician today and he said she had the stomach flu. Her temperature was 103 this afternoon when she woke up from her nap, so I hope she gets feeling better soon!
