We have had a pretty exciting week at the Beck household. Last Thursday Grandma Jane came up to spend a few days with us. It was so nice for mommy to be able to take a nap and not worry about Madelyn. Grandma Jane was so terrific; she made a yummy dinner for us every night!! We really appreciated all of her help!! Grandpa Randy, Auntie Abby, and Uncle Blake all came up to visit with Madelyn on Saturday.
Madelyn had her first “real” bath on Sunday. She didn’t seem to mind the water. She actually fussed more when we took her out of the tub. I guess I don’t like getting out of a warm bath either though.

Josh’s ear had been bothering him, so I made an appointment for him at ENT on Tuesday. Josh took Madelyn and I with him, so she got to meet the whole office. Everyone “oohed and aaahed” over her! Josh ended up having a new tube put in his right ear by Dr. Disher. Dr. Disher thought Madelyn would be running around by the next time Josh needs a new tube! It is so hard to imagine her running around, but I am sure it will be here sooner than I think! Later that night, I decided that I was pretty tired and laid down to take a nap around 8:00. Daddy was going to spend some quality time with Madelyn as she was fed, burped, changed, and almost asleep. At 10:00 Josh came up and handed a screaming Madelyn to me. He told me that she was hungry. He then proceeded to tell me that she had been screaming her head off ever since I went to bed. He was trying to change her diaper while she was screaming and got poopie on his hand. Before he knew what was going on, he ran his hand through his hair and ended up with poopie all through his hair!! Needless to say, he was very frustrated.
Yesterday Madelyn had her 2 week check-up with Dr. Fuchs (her pediatrician). Usually it is their goal for the baby to be back up to their birth weight by the 2 week appointment. Madelyn weighed 8 lbs 10 oz!! A full pound more than her birth weight!! Dr. Fuchs was very happy about that!! Dr. Fuchs said that everything else looked just great and that we don’t have to go back to the office until her 2 month check!!
Josh and I are looking forward to a quiet Valentine’s Weekend. No plans and that is how we like it these days!
I love Madelyn's faces during her first bath!! I don't think she knew what to think about it!! She looks terrified in the one picture!!
Madelyn in her cute Lady Bug outfit Uncle Josh got her!! Look at the feet!! I love it!
Auntie Abby and Maddie thinking hard about something!
She looks just like a little version of Josh in her bath pictures. She's very cute! I'm so happy for your new family.
ReplyDeleteCute photos!! And way to go, Uncle Josh, for picking out such a cute outfit. :) I'm impressed that she didn't mind her first bath. Sounds like she's going to be a girly-girl...Pretty soon she'll be asking you to make it a bubble bath. :) She's so sweet!
