Newborn pictures

It has been a nice, but busy week. I decided that Madelyn can start leaving the house a little bit more. I think it is more for my sanity, but we needed to have a change of scenery. Monday she went to the grocery store with me. It was an experience. The car seat that she has doesn’t lock onto the top of the grocery cart like I have seen other car seats do—or maybe I am just not smart enough to figure it out. Either way, I could get the car seat to set on top of the cart two different ways. The first way, she was setting straight up at a 90 degree angle, it looked like she was going to be catapulted out of the seat at any moment. The second way, her legs were above her head and she just looked way too awkward. So I put her seat in the basket part of the cart, the only problem with that was that there was essentially no room left for our groceries. We made it but she had food packed all around her car seat by the time we were ready to go.

Maddie and I went to the Mom’s group again this week. She was able to visit with her new friend Adelyn who is 3 weeks older than Maddie. It is fun to talk to Adelyn’s mom, Stacia, and see what I should expect in the next few weeks. After the Mom’s group we stopped by ENT to visit. It is just so nice to get out of the house.

Thursday Grandma Patty had the day off due to fog!! We decided to take Madelyn on her first shopping trip. She was so good for the entire afternoon! We got to use her stroller for the first time and she loved it. She slept for a little while, and when she woke up she would just look at the lights and check out everything. Again, the only stuff I bought was baby girl stuff!! I think I am going a little overboard, but it is so hard not to get all the cute little girl stuff. Later that night, Grandma and Grandpa Worthington had their first babysitting gig. Josh and I had a meeting we needed to go to and then we went out for dinner. It was so weird being away from Madelyn.

We are so excited we got Madelyn’s newborn pictures back this week. I am going to post the ones we ordered below. I was amazed at how well the pictures turned out. Madelyn was screaming a crying through her entire photo shoot and then she pooped and peed all over me during her naked butt pictures, but not one picture looked like she was crying. The photographer, Jeani Mussleman, did an excellent job. She was so flexible and good with Maddie, I would highly recommend her. http://www.jmusselman.com

Our first family picture!

After screaming and crying for an hour and a half she finally dozed off for the last five minutes of her session. She looks so innocent!
Maddie looking around. I think it looks like she was swallowed up by a cloud.

She just looks way to cute in this picture!!

I think this is right before she pooped all over me. I love this picture though. It was so worth getting pooped on! :)
